Systems Administrator (Windows)

Location: Kirkland, WA
We are currently assisting our client with their search for a Systems Administrator (Windows).

Our client is a mission-based organization focused on incubating and communicating new ideas, approaches, and products that improve the lives of people around the world, especially for the bottom two billion poorest people. Their work covers some of the most important global challenges in health, education and development. 

Duration: FTE
Location: Kirkland, WA
Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record for occasional work-related projects
Travel - 10 to 15% (likely once or twice per year)
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of our on-premises server infrastructure, as well as our Office 365 and Azure cloud environments.  That includes the following:
  1. Implement and maintain highly available services and solutions
  2. Implement and maintain secure technology services and solutions
  3. Implement and maintain monitoring solutions of technology infrastructure
  4. Implement and maintain backup and business continuity solutions
  5. Document systems architecture and procedures, and keep documentation current
  6. Develop, implement, and help maintain technology management policies, processes, standards and practices
  7. Provides technical leadership to projects focused on:
    • Introducing system enhancements
    • Business process re-engineering and evolution
    • Tactical projects which support broader strategic programs
  8. Provide 24x7 Tier 1 through Tier 3 support, with Tier 2 support being primary
  9. Lead and guide the work performed by our managed service providers
  10. Partner with other business units to design and deliver technology solutions
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  2. Must have at least 8 years’ experience implementing and maintaining infrastructure systems for global availability
  3. Thorough knowledge of the following systems and services:
    • Office 365 services
      • Exchange Online
      • Skype for Business
      • SharePoint Online
      • Yammer
      • Dynamics 365
    • Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
      • Azure AD
      • Azure SQL
      • Azure VM
      • Azure app services
      • Azure networking
    • Microsoft security solutions
      • Security and Compliance Center
      • Azure Security Center
      • Windows Defender ATP
      • Azure ATP
      • Office 365 ATP
      • Cloud App Security
    • Microsoft Windows Server, Exchange Server, SharePoint Server and SQL server
    • Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, File/Print Servers, and ADFS
    • TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL and other network protocols
    • Microsoft Hyper-V Server
    • Enterprise storage solutions, such as SAN, NAS, etc.
    • PowerShell and scripting
  4. Familiarity of networking and telephony infrastructures and technologies
    • Cisco Call Manager
    • Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls
  5. Must have a record of successfully managing technology transitions and sustaining continuity of services in a Windows computing environment
  6. Must have proven success with engineering corporate computing facilities to enable a specific service delivery model; providing formal service level definitions and periodic measurements which quantify actual vs. promised service level
