DevOps Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA

HansellTierney is helping a client in their search for a DevOps Engineer. The Dev-Ops Engineer will support continuous integration and deployment in our custom environments. They will work with the Development, QA and IT teams to coordinate deployments and environment changes.  Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, collaborative, and will work well in a rapidly growing, vibrant, fun workplace.    

You are a team player that needs minimal supervision and enjoys maintaining expertise in the areas of focus, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that our assets are effectively and efficiently utilized. You have the ability to accurately prioritize projects, make sound judgments, and get the right things done.  You continually seek to improve our processes and the efficiency of our systems.   • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience working in Dev and/or IT
  • 1+ years of experience working DevOps
  • Experience with Chef/Puppet/Ansible/or PowerShell DSC
    • Ruby experience a plus
  • Functional understanding of build and deployment pipelines (CI/CD)
  • An understanding of source control, branching, and merge strategies
    • Git experience a plus
  • Client/Server fundamentals and Browser/Server interaction using IIS
  • Expert knowledge of PowerShell scripting language
  • An understanding of the .NET framework and C#
  • Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a results-oriented, fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong ability to learn new technical skills as needed.
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve problems effectively.
  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to present clearly using appropriate terms and concepts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with people
  • Sound organizational skills.
  • Possesses sense of urgency; identifies challenges and problems and takes the initiative to identify solutions.
