We are currently helping our client, a groundbreaking aerospace and spaceflight company, with their search for a Sr. Embedded Software Engineer.
Duration - 6 month contract; potential for extension or permanent conversion
Location - Kent, WA

As part of a small team, you will participate in the development and verification of avionics software systems on rocket engines. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of re-usable, safety-critical component development and delivery. This hands-on position requires experience in developing, validating and verifying safety critical software systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Ideal candidates should have deep software engineering experience and familiarity with embedded software, systems engineering and electrical engineering. The candidate will own (with a passion) the design and development of software meant to control the behavior of a very significant part of the rocket -- the engine controller. Expertise writing C/C++ code on ARM Cortex based embedded platforms without RTOS support.
Experience writing C/C++ code and building software in the GNU-toolchain environment.
Experience with git and online github/gitlab services.
Experiencing debugging embedded software with test equipment.
Experience with SPI, UART, Ethernet PHY, N2HET, GPIO, ADC, ECAP, EPWM.
Experience with Segger Tools
Comfortable and adept working in a Linux environment.
Experience translating information from an Interface Control Descriptions into software.
Experience reading, reviewing and making use of Schematics to design embedded software.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Experience developing code to a qualification standard (e.g. DO-178).
Experience working a scrum/agile based workflow.
Experience with a scripting language such as Python.
